Early in Semester 1, 2015, the STEM teachers organised a "Talk Fest" where guest speakers came to the College to speak to the Year 9 students about different Flora and Fauna issues across the Top End.
![]() Michael BarrittMichael Barritt has worked for the Parks and Wildlife Commission of the Northern Territory for almost 30 years. During this time he has worked as a technician in the Alice Springs and Darwin Herbariums and Wildlife Research. He has also worked as a Park Ranger across the Territory. In recent years he has worked as a Community Engagement Officer in Central Australia and the Top End. He also manages the Be Crocwise and Junior Ranger programs. | ![]() Ian MorrisIan Morris—biologist, educator, conservationist, and author—has worked with the Aboriginal traditional owners of Arnhem Land region since his early life as a Science teacher. He was then involved with the beginning of the Federal Government’s first Indigenous joint land management project – Kakadu National Park. | ![]() Kevin CooperKevin Cooper is the State Coordinator for the National Banana Freckle Eradication Program in the NT. For most of the last 25 years he has worked as a senior manager involved with the construction of a multimillion dollar laboratory complex, and the establishment and operation of multidisciplinary state-wide laboratory services . For the past 20 years he has been a leading manager for emergency preparedness, prevention, response and recovery for biosecurity emergencies and natural disasters. |
